I’m in the middle of two big projects right now, and it might be a while until I finished. So, this week I thought I’d reach out to the crochet/knit/fiber community and ask, What is your favorite Summer yarn to work with?
I will answer first…
My favorite, without a doubt in my crammed little mind is Patons Grace. This mercerized cotton often whips up like a thread yarn. It is light weight, but when you create a fabric from it, it has wonderful drape. I love to make jewelry with this yarn. I wear my creations all year round, but they especially suit the warm weather. Here are some examples:
I like big earrings.
I made this basket-weave cuff for a friend of mine.
I love making patches and appliqués. I am giving away my secret, but mercerized cotton is the best for a project like this!
Now it’s your turn…
Please leave a comment and let me know what your favorite Summer yarn is!
Happy Crocheting!

For cotton, I like “I love this cotton” from Hobby Lobby. For acrylics, I like the Bernat Softee DK weight (but the colors are limited, and its still a little hot). Summer yarn is hard! I have stumbled on some great ‘mill-ends’ though. I hope others offer better suggestions! 🙂

I love Hobby Lobby, but I don’t go there enough! I need to check out their yarn selection. Thanks for the tip!
