I love Fun Fur! This was a huge surprise for me because I always pass up the furry yarns when I go shopping for skeins. My mom, cleaning out her closet, gave me about six skeins of the Fun Fur, and I slipped them on the shelf and forgot about them. By chance I saw a picture on Ravelry, you can see it here, and had a moment of clarity. Fun Fur doesn’t have to be made into something one wears! You can use it to clean with! There is a link for a free pattern on that Ravelry site, but I didn’t notice it right away, and made up my own.
Materials:
Fun Fur – 1 skein
Cotton Yarn
I Hook
tapestry needle
Notes:
*Both the Fun Fur and Cotton Yarn will be crochet together.
*Make 2
Instructions:
Foundation Row: Ch 23
Row 1: sc in second ch from hook, and each ch across. ch 1, turn. (22 sc)
Row 2: sc in first st, sc across. ch 1, turn. (22 sc)
Rows 3-13: Repeat Row 2.
Bind off, leave a long tail.
Finishing the Duster:
After two panels are created, whip stitch the two sides together, leaving one short end open.
Place duster onto the holder, and with Fun Fur only, sew around the two prongs. This will secure the duster to the device when using. Turn up some music and go to work, most importantly have fun!
Let’s face it, refills can be expensive. This project whips up in an hour, and you can use the duster over and over, just shake it out when you’re done, throw it in the wash, and reuse.
I hope you like this project as much as I do, spring cleaning, here I come!
Happy Crocheting!
