I have been crocheting up a storm lately but haven’t been writing much about it. Though, if you follow me on Instagram or Facebook, you’ll be able to see the projects I’m working on. My hope is to get some video tutorials going, but I have an issue with lighting, we’ve had many cloudy days lately. I also have been having an issue looking camera ready when it is light out, but that one is totally on me ;).
For this post, I want to highlight one of the two hats I’ve made recently for my daughter. This is her Under the Sea Hat.
I have to admit I LOVE this hat. It combined my favorite things, appliqués and something practical to wear. She has gotten many compliments on the hat, and it is always a point of pride when she says her mom made it. Here is a couple more views.
The hat pattern was found on Oombawka Design Crochet, you can find the pattern here. I followed the pattern, and added two rows of front and back post stitches for the edge.
I found the appliqué patterns on Jenny and Teddy, you can find the links to the patterns here.
I used a left over Caron Cake for the colors and I think they fit my daughter’s taste and personality perfectly. Doesn’t she look cute in the hat?
This hat only took a few evenings to make, I hope you like it too! Happy Crocheting!
How cute, both hat and daughter!
