This month’s Crochet for Charity spotlight is Project Linus.  I chose Project Linus because it provides handmade blankets to children who have been ill or traumatized.  It doesn’t matter if you sew, knit or crochet, if you can make a blanket, Project Linus will take it.  This charity has expanded to all fifty states, and more than likely has a chapter close to your home.

My daughter turned 5 this week, and my husband and I feel very blessed that she has been a happy and healthy kid thus far.  Yet, even as I write, I see her curled up on the couch wrapped in a blanket.  Blankets give kids (and adults) comfort, security and warmth.  They are a hug when someone is alone, and are something to share with company.  This month I want to spread my love out a little more, giving thanks for what I have, and share it with someone who needs it.

If you are interested, please visit the Project Linus homepage for more info on how to donate.

And…

If you haven’t visited my FaceBook page and commented on this week’s post, you have until Tuesday to enter into the drawing for the heart earrings.  Good Luck!

Happy Crocheting!
