As I said a couple of weeks ago, I have like three unfinished projects just begging for the finishing touches. I am thisclose to finishing two of them, but I keep putting it off. There is always a reason, usually its a busy day that leads to a fried mind at night that leads to lots of mistakes read in the pattern which finally leads to ripping out what I just did. So I am going to post a few pictures of the items I have been working on, and hopefully this will lead to at least one finished piece next week!
Lately I have been in love with vests. Maybe its because my former hourglass shape is resembling an apple shape these days, but vests seem to elongate the tire around my middle and hide it at the same time. Plus, you never know what kind of weather shows up in Wisconsin, and its always a safe bet to layer. So to day I’ll highlight a few items that will be a vest in one form or another.
This project turned into a vest idea the other day. I was staring at this oversized granny square, wondering what I could make from it, when a fabric/granny square combo vest came to me. I hope what I am envisioning turns out as cool as I think it will look. We will see!
Here is a teaser of a Summer vest that is almost complete. I took the pattern from the Spring 2016 issue of Crochet!. This is fairly simple, once you get the main stitch pattern down. It has a very lacy and complex look to it, I just love it! I used a different yarn that what was listed, but the yarn I used seems to have a nice drape. I am hoping to finish and block this week, so you’ll get to see the results soon!
Can you tell my color scheme lately? I think I’ve been craving anything bright and light because we’ve had a very cold and dreary Spring. I’m hoping, by finishing these vests I’ll be sending sunny mojo our way!
Lastly, I may have shown these photos before, but these are two versatile shawls I created last Summer. I love that you can wear them multiple ways. And I wanted to show you that off white isn’t the only color I crochet with!
Hopefully I’ll have a finished product or two to show you next week!
