Happy Tuesday! As I have mentioned in a previous blog, I have a craft fair coming up in a few weeks. This is the first craft fair I have done this year; it is for my daughter’s school, so I am focusing on crochet accessories for kids. Some of the items you have seen, like the colorful headband and cowl set.
Here is my adult version.
I have made A LOT of cowls and headbands. They are fairly simple to make and reasonably priced, plus they are great Fall weather wear.
I did want to offer something simple that a kid can buy for his/her teacher or parent. I liked the idea of crochet succulents, but as I got going I opted for making a crochet poinsettia instead. I started off viewing this video tutorial for a basis on how to make it. I then adjusted to fit what I wanted. Here is my info.
Materials
F Hook
Patons Grace in Cardinal and Ginger
Tapestry needle and scissors
Instructions
Small Flower: With Ginger, ch 4, sl st into first ch to form a loop. Ch 5, sl st into loop, repeat 5 times. Sl st to first sl st pulling Cardinal through to change colors.
Big Flower: sl st into ch between first loop, ch 7. sc in 2nd ch from hook, hdc in next, dc in next, tc in next, dc in next, and hdc in last ch, sl st into the ch between the next loop. Repeat 5 times ending with a sl st between the first loop.
Row 2: ch 9, sc in 2nd and 3rd ch from hook, hdc in next, dc in next, tc in next 2 ch, dc in next, and hdc in last ch, sl st into the ch between the next loop. Repeat 5 times, ending with a sl st between the first loop.
What do you think? Do you like this project? Have you ever done a craft fair, any tips? I’d love to hear your feedback, until next time, Happy Crocheting!
Craft fairs here are either big ones or small ones, not much in between & I have to travel for them . Love to try sometime when I get the courage! Best of luck , this hats are v pretty

Everything looks great. 🙂 I still haven’t decided if I want to do the craft fair this year at the school where I work. I always decide at the last minute and am then crocheting furiously trying to have enough things to sell. I guess I better get crocheting now IN CASE I do it this year.

If you do do share your work and best practices! I think the phone case would go over well😊.

Last time, the emoji’s sold out as did the pokemon balls. Those properties still seem to be hot so I think I’ll make some more of those. The superhero dolls sold well so maybe some more of those need to be made. I did manage to sell some of the bigger dolls but I still have some of those so I’m not sure I need to make more but the puppets should be something I try out this year. I did sell the phone and purse cases I had the last time so I think you’re right about those. I think I should make them in the school’s colors. Hmmm, I think I can do this! You have inspired me. 🙂

Lovely model! 😍 And the hat’s great too! You really made some lovely things…really thought of everything/everyone. I’m sure the poinsettias will be a bestseller 😃 Get ready for more orders! 🙂 Little tip: Bring your hook and yarn to work on some in your booth. People love to watch an artist at work, get something hot-of-the-hook, plus you won’t be bored during the down-times. 😉 Good luck & (most of all! ) Have fun 🤗
