Color inspiration can come from anywhere. As you can see from the pictures below, you can find color schemes in nature, on the sidewalk, or at a coffee shop, and these are just a few examples. It’s crazy to think that with all the colors in the world we often reach for black in our closets (or is it just me?).
Last Friday we explored the color wheel. We learned about how colors are put together, and some different ways you can use the wheel to come up with your own combinations. I don’t know about you, but I learned a lot. I also had to think a lot, and often when I have to think a lot, I tend to doubt myself a lot. This Friday, I am reaching for inspiration from everywhere, also called the internet. Check out my Pinterest board Color Schemes, it does the color work for you. Pick out your favorite combos and go to work. Now this is way easier on the brain! I have some examples of the color schemes and crochet work below.
See how easy it is to put a colorful piece together? I whipped these up yesterday in no time because I didn’t have to think about the color scheme. If you are stuck in a color rut, take an easy way out and use a pre-made color scheme, it won’t let you down.
Happy Crocheting!
What a great way to get combinations fast!

Well, I don’t know if I can promise to do that. Overthinking is my middle name.

Ha! That’s why I’ve included a cheat sheet. It’s too easy to get lost in a sea of yummy yarn colors, at least these will show us what looks good together!

I love seeing yellows in projects but it can be tricky sometimes to find colors to use with the brighter shades. This is great for discovering some colors to use with yellow that I may not have thought of on my own! 😀

Yes! I feel the same way about orange hues, they’re my favorite, but so hard to mix. That’s what started this journey for me! So glad this can help you out, Tami!

Cool to see I’m not the only one who does this! The challenge I have is finding yarn that matches the colours you want to use. I buy most of my yarn online and sometimes it’s looks quite different once I have it in my hands! I’ve recently bought some swatch cards, so I’m hoping that makes it easier in the future 😊

You are so right about buying yarn online, it’s so convenient, yet can be tough without being able to see it in person. Swatch cards are a great idea!
