Okay, I’m a little late for the 2018 goal party, but “Better late than never” so I move forward. To be fair to myself, I wrote these goals last week, and have been as slow as a sloth who ate a snail in obtaining them. So, I figure I should probably publish them for all to see, and maybe that will be the kick in the pants I need.
Most of my 2018 goals are blog/social media/Etsy related, but that is because I write a crochet blog and that is how I connect with my dear readers/friends. I do have a few personal/family goals sprinkled in because 18 is a lot of things to strive for and in my life my family comes first, so I couldn’t leave them out. Without further ado, here are my 18 for 2018.
Goals for 2018
- 1 blog post a week (almost missed this week!)
- 2 new blog follows a week
- 3 Pinterest and Instagram posts per month
- 4 exercise days per week
- 5 fruits/vegetables per day
- 6 new patterns this year
- 7 things donated per month
- 8 new books this year
- 9 new Ravelry patterns this year
- 10 Read, like, comment on blogs per day
- 11 video tutorials/year
- 12 family photos per year (thanks Mrs. Craft for this great idea!)
- 13 days writing for me (outside of blogging) per month
- 14 product “photo sessions” per year
- 15 pounds lost by my birthday (want to start my 40’s off right!)
- 16 classes taught per month
- 17 New Etsy Listings this year
- 18 home cooked meals/month (we tend to eat out a lot).
Phew! Anyone else tired from this list? I have a lot of work to do, but since I have taken an extra long New Year vacation, I should be well rested to get on it! Next week I have a planning week for all the classes I will start teaching, so getting organized with the other “work” in my life will help my crochet/blogging/Etsy life.
Plus, Little C’s 6th birthday is next week and I have officially decided she will not be “little” any longer. Thus, she will have some things she’ll have to start doing on her own. This will be interesting, as we are currently in a week long standoff about cleaning her room. Her TV shows, tablet, and Nintendo DS have all been taken away, and she hasn’t budged. She tells me she likes the news now. I cannot stand her messiness and will be going up with a garbage bag to clean all the toys she doesn’t play with any more (she broke me). So, #7 will be taken care of this month!
Okay, hands in everybody, 1,2,3, Break! Let’s go at 2018 with gusto and get our goals accomplished!
Happy Crocheting!
These are great goals and I’m sure you’ll manage to get them!
If you’re looking for new and easy recipes, I do post twice a month a recipe (first and third Monday) if you’re interested. I’m a stay at home mom with an 18 month old and my fiance is at work all day (literally. Not just 9-5.) Because of that I try and find easy quick meals I can do or set up during nap times or first thing in the morning and let it cook on it’s own.
I love how Little C is being so obstinate, she’s now becoming informed just to not clean her room (hate to say it, she reminds me of me…the throwing things in garbage bags might work…taking the news away may make her read more…I hope you find something that works to get her to clean her room like you want!)
Good luck with your goals! I’m sure you can manage them!

Thanks! I will check out your recipes! I am always looking for easy and good meals! Yes, little C has a stubborn streak, it is frustrating, but I am secretly glad she’s got a strong mind😊.

We did this, but I don’t remember exactly how old the girls were, maybe closer to 8, so it might not be a good idea. We cleaned their room so that it was perfect, then we put 5 $1 bills in an envelope. We could inspect anytime between 9am and 7pm, and if the room had anything lying on the floor (deserted), the bed unmade, clothes not put away, etc. (the list was in writing) the inspectors (mom and dad) could take a dollar. It was possible for them to go in the hole and owe us money. The next Monday we started again. In about three months, they were pretty much in the habit and the rooms never looked like an earthquake epicenter after that. There was one week where someone only started with $2, but after that they usually made money, and this was their allowance, so…

Good idea! Little C might be a little young for this, but definitely worth a try when she’s older!

I agree, I’ve been thinking about it since I wrote, and I bet the youngest was in 3rd or 4th grade.

Good luck with Little C! My daughter’s 22 and her room still looks like a disaster area.

Loved your goals… I didn’t actually wrote mine, but I liked the way you did it so I might take some time the rest of this week to think about mine and have them written if its just for me to remember them and actually follow through.

I started the year so lazy, and needed some goals to focus. Writing them on the blog and returning to them each month will make me accountable. Plus, there are other bloggers doing this, so we can cheer each other on!

That’s actually a good idea. I started the year not lazy per se, but focused on getting organized so I haven’t been able to write down my goals. I only talk them put with my husband but I will do them and post them too maybe starting February cause I promised myself that January would be to get organized, house clean and kids schedules on track.

Ahahaha I’m sure it’s not funny to deal with, but little C sounds as stubborn as I am! I bet that will be a story you tell when she’s older :p
Good luck with all your goals, this is going to be a productive year!

Yes, I hope next month is better at keeping the goals than this month! C is stubborn, and she’s stubborn with a smile which is even more maddening (even though I’m secretly impressed by her confidence) 😊.

Ah she’s more evolved than me then, I’m stubborn with a scowl 😉
