This has been a long week, and it’s only Tuesday! Are you having a week like this? There is so much stress in the world, and we get to know about it every second of every minute of every hour of every day. This stresses me out just thinking about how available bad news is. I guess that is why I decided to write a blog about crochet and sometimes other creative hobbies (yes, baking is very creative). I need something to escape into. Are you like me?
Somewhere along the line, crochet became a passion and then an obsession. I am working on something every night, and every morning I read your blogs. Thank you for fueling my fire.
Today, I have links from the last week or so, for you to escape into. I hope you can join me on this little retreat from the world and get inspired to do something beautiful.
Check out this article about a woman who “paints” with yarn. Her creations are incredible.
Tina, from Kristabella’s Hodgepoge just posted a pattern to make an awesome poncho. I can’t help but think this would be a perfect cover-up for the Fall.
In Diane’s Kitchen posted an article about cutting up a whole chicken. This might not be a beautiful post, but it sure can be helpful!
Eleonora, from Coastal Crochet, posted her Crochet Round-up. Her work is gorgeous, and I am excited that magazines are starting to recognize her!
Finally, KB Crochet recognized my blog on her Follow It Friday post. She was so gracious, and her spirit of community inspired this blog!
What inspires you? Please share in the comments. Happy Crocheting!
Oh wow that yarn art is amazing!
It is a terribly long week already, thanks for brightening it up 🙂

It never ceases to amaze me what beautiful art people can do with different mediums. What a nice way to start the day with inspiration from around the web.

Thanks for sharing these Brenna. Our week got longer yesterday….it ended with a new toilet…😳, however it did provide some perspective, sort of. Today I had such a need to sew or knit or something, so I was running to my sewing room with each 15 minute break between piano lessons. So silly!

Ha! I hope to hear the story about the toilet 😆. I’ve had those days when you just want to make something in peace and life keeps interrupting! I guess it makes us appreciate our craft even more😊.

Yes, the toilet! It has running after we flush, and we thought it time to fix it, and save on water. We changed the original out about 10 years ago and one we installed then had a big plastic float and a plastic liner to reduce water usage. The universal kit we got, had the right parts, but this toilet had TWO seals between tank and bowl…(kit has only one, and it doesn’t look the same….We put the new kit in and turned on the water…ARGH! We adjusted, tried the new and old, went back to old….no way was that tank going to be watertight with what we had. So, after the two of us spent from 10 until 3 on the stupid thing, to no avail, I googled the options at Lowe’s and Menard’s and we settled on a lower priced brand name complete toilet. Between 4:30 and 7:00, we went to Lowe’s, bought the toilet, came home, ate dinner, pulled out the old one, and set the bowl. After my last piano lesson finished at 8, we finished it and sat down for a rest before falling into bed. So now we have a perfectly good toilet in the garage, except for the fact that no one makes seals that fit it properly! Now I know where those toilet planters come from…..

Oh no! Two toilets in one day! Yes, a toilet planter might be a good upcycle project 😉. Glad Monday is done!

I totally agree with you, it is really nice to read positive and crafty news everyday rather than seeing all the negativity in the world ❤️

I feel the same, Crochet is my therapy. By the way do you know of any other good WordPress blogs about crochet? I’m sometimes struggling to find! More specifically amigurumi. If you know good ones let me know! Hope you don’t get too stressed in the coming week.

Hi! Great post! I definitely escape with crocheting which is a fairly new found hobby for me. I also enjoy writing to escape the stresses in the world. I am new to blogging. I am a stay home mom who has resigned from the corporate world. My goal is to gain experience in blogging. Any advice?
