Happy Tuesday! I cannot believe we are in the middle of August already, our Summer vacation is just flying by and truth be told I am almost ready for school to start (although I’ll miss spending time with my sidekick). Part of the reason I am ready for school to start is because I have a bunch of orders coming up and I need to get to work (is crochet really work?).
On another note, the Wisconsin State Fair just ended and my family and I took our annual pilgrimage there to eat cream puffs, watch pig races, and of course, see all the winners of the craft and fiber art contests. I took a bunch of photos because there were so many creative items, so without further ado, please check out the winners!
The white hat with the flowers (top right) and the entrelac blue and white bag on the bottom are my favorite, but there was a lot of crochet entered this year!
I had to take some photos of the amigurumi. How cute are these? And that octopus blanket is so adorable!
This picture is for my quilting friends. I am blown away by the amount of detail in the quilt below. How many years do you think it took its maker?
Also, it was Jelly Belly Day. We got to try weird flavors like Pear Boogers and Minion Farts (I actually spit that one out), we also got to try good flavors like Krispy Kreme doughnut flavors. Little C liked the huge Jelly Belly balloon.
What has everyone been making lately? Happy Crocheting!
What a fun time you had….enter something next year!!! This will be my first year with no State Fair; seems a little weird, but I think I can stand the free time. 🙂 Can you believe summer is soon over.

I can’t believe how fast Summer went. The Fair is always a fun day. I entered my Springtime Versatile Shawl two years ago and won 4th place. It was fun to enter and see the shawl displayed. Time went too quick this year.

I always hope to do our State Fair, but the pre entries are due July 1, and I always forget that!

The hat and the entrelac jumped right out for me too before I started reading the whole post! I love fairs. I haven’t been to one in a couple of years, I definitely need to find out when the big local ones in my area are. There are a couple that are right around this time in August. I hope I didn’t miss them!! 😀
