Well, we are finally here! After weeks of voting, here is the pattern winner! This pattern takes about 8 – 10 hours, so if you have nothing to do this weekend, you can probably get it done. Springtime Versatile Shawl
Materials
Light weight (3) Yarn – I used a cotton/acrylic blend – 774 m/846 y
H (5mm) hook
tapestry needle
9 buttons – 3/4 in, 19 mm
scissors
Instructions:
Foundation Row: dc 206, turn.
Row 1: ch 1, sk 1st dc, dc across leaving last dc open
Row 2: ch 1, sk 1st dc, dc in the next st, *ch 2, sk next 2 dc, dc in next two, *repeat across row until the second to last st, dc in the second to last st, leave last dc open
Row 3: ch 1, sk 1st dc, dc in next st, 2 dc in ch 2 sp, *ch 2, sk 2 dc, 2 dc in ch 2 sp, *repeat across row, leave last dc open
Row 4: ch 1, sk 1st st, *dc in every dc and 2 dc in ch 2 sp, *repeat across row, leave last dc open
Row 5: ch 1, sk 1st st, *dc in every dc, *repeat across row, leave last dc open
Repeat Rows 2-5: 7 times (32 rows total)
Edging
Join yarn to lower right hand corner of shawl.
Edge 1: a) ch 1, sc in corner st, sc 62 evenly along the side of the shawl, 3 sc in top corner st, b) continue to sc 138 across the top of of the shawl, 3 sc in opposite top-corner st, c) sc 62 evenly along the side of the shawl, 2 sc in last st, turn.
Edge 2: a) ch 1, sc in 1st st, sc along side, 2 sc in corner, sl st in same corner st, b) sl st accross the top of the shawl to the corner, c) sc at corner, ch 2, sc in next st, sc in the next 6 st, *ch 2 sc in next 8 st, repeat 6 times, ch 2 sc in next 7 st, ch 2 sc in last st, turn.
Edge 3: ch 1, sc 3 times in ch st, sc in next 7, *sc 3 times in ch st, sc in next 8 st, repeat 6 times. sc 3 times in ch st, sc in next 7, 3 sc in corner ch, bind off and weave in the ends.
I absolutely LOVE this!! The buttons really finish it off perfectly. Great pattern!! think I might make several to give to each of my girls:). —I’m excited about the blueberry muffins tomorrow! I can’t wait to see yours:)) yum!

Thanks! This is one of my favorite shawls to make, post pictures of yours! I am recruiting my 5 year old to make the muffins today, so we won’t be doing a low sugar recipe 😉.
